extensions
provide a platform for
personalization
and
lifestyle
enhancement, making them an integral part of
online engagement
. Today, we delve into one such app, the 'Change Geolocation (Location Guard)', a top
Chrome extension
that has, unfortunately, disappointed its users with an average rating of 2.6 out of 5.
Understanding 'Change Geolocation (Location Guard)' Chrome Extension
'Change Geolocation (Location Guard)' is a
browser
extension designed to allow users to change their geographical location and protect their
privacy
. The user can set their desired latitude and longitude, and the extension changes the geolocation as per the provided values with the default location set as Greenwich, UK.
User Reviews and Feedback
Despite its promising features, 'Change Geolocation (Location Guard)' has received mixed reviews from its users. While some users found it to be an excellent tool for privacy protection, others criticized its functionality. For example, a user named James Richards termed it as 'useless' while another user, Jay Douglass, complained, "It doesn't work."
Some users like 'Tyler' have had a positive experience, saying, "Works great," but requested the addition of a 'dark mode' for the options page. On the other hand, users like 'Megenius' and 'Michael Tsang' pointed out that the extension doesn't work at all, no matter how they tried it.
Alternative Chrome Extensions
Interestingly, several users recommended alternative Chrome extensions, which they found to be more efficient. 'Steve Meet' suggested using the 'Vytal' extension instead, which can spoof geolocation, timezone, locale, and user agent, and works much better than 'Change Geolocation (Location Guard). Another user, 'Megenius', recommended using the "Search Laboratory Regional SERP Selector" instead.
The Verdict
In conclusion, while the concept behind 'Change Geolocation (Location Guard)' seems promising, it appears to fall short in delivering an efficient user experience. Therefore, based on the aggregate user reviews and rating, we would advise against installing this Chrome extension. Instead, you might want to consider trying out the best Chrome extensions as suggested by users like 'Vytal' or the "Search Laboratory Regional SERP Selector" for a more satisfactory online engagement.
Remember, your online experience and personalization should be hassle-free and enjoyable, and it's important to choose extensions that deliver on their promises for a seamless online experience.

It's very good work
its not working.. added the desired lat long but still detecting the original location.
This will not work for testing things that use IP address to check your location.
Not sure why there are so many bad ratings. This one completely works for me. And I have verified it using multiple ways to detect your location. If you know what you're doing (hint: if your IP location is set with a broader region rather than with your local region), you will definitely figure this out. BRAVO, developer! I love that this is free. I really wanted to leave a review because the overall ratings do not match up with my own experience. It's good to know that others also have figured it out and left a good rating. To me this is an excellent product. This works well for my professional sports viewing habits.
This isn't the one you are looking for as the other one by the same name works great. Not this one, keep looking
Works perfectly.
just by watching the tutorial video i can tell this will be a pain. like who wants to go and look for coordinates to change the location. this is ridiculous lol.
This doesn't work. It only cosmetically changes the geotag, but not the "aggressive" and non spoofable tags. Country Code and Country Name. Per https://webbrowsertools.com/geolocation/ About page, "This page shows your geolocation data... six methods designed to extract geodata... The last two methods are "aggressive", meaning that, they can extract the real geodata even if you have a plugin to spoof your geolocation data... first four methods may conceive fake geolocation but the last two will not and always return the real geodata." This is totally worthless for anything other than fun, which, in that case, it would be a five star extension.
Simply is NOT working. I removed it.
Simply is NOT working. I removed it.
Didnt work for me sorry.
useless
It doesn't work.
The "gotta watch video" feels like mansplaining, so let me speed it up for you. Right-click icon and tap "what is my location" or options.. that should do ya. I think my extension could be doing more. Reviewer Steve Meet recommends Vyal for more.
ok
Works great. Please add a dark mode for the options page. Pretty much the only extension I have left that still blinds me on setting it up. And yea option page is a bit bare bones ,a bit in search for figuring out the geolocation coordinates could be good, or at least a link where to find them.
